Gosforth Parish Council has limited responsibilities, however they represent you as residents of the Parish. Monthly meetings (except August) take place at the Library Link on the second Wednesday of the month at 7pm. The Annual Meeting and AGM takes place in May. Gosforth Parish Council maintain some of the green spaces in the village, whilst Copeland are responsible for others. The Car Park and Public Toilets are owned by Copeland Borough Council and managed by Gosforth Parish Council. Other areas covered by the Parish Council are as follows:

  • bus shelters
  • community centres
  • play areas and play equipment
  • grants to help local organisations
  • consultation on neighbourhood planning
  • consultation on planning applications within the Parish
